1. Start with a real use case
A markdown is not a recommendation. Before price enters the conversation, a pick needs a specific reader and a specific job: a compact charger for frequent travel, a mesh system for a multi-floor home, or a kitchen tool that replaces several awkward steps.
We reject products that depend on vague superlatives, confusing variants, unsupported health claims, or a discount large enough to distract from a weak fit.
2. Use approved commerce sources
Amazon product content must come from an approved source such as Amazon’s Creators API or a manually created SiteStripe link used according to the Associates terms. We do not scrape Amazon, randomize ratings, estimate list prices, or create fictional products when a feed is unavailable.
When an approved source is not connected, the site shows that limitation. An empty verified-deals section is more useful than a polished fiction.
3. Expire price claims
Prices and availability move. A product price is eligible for display only while its approved-source verification is within our 24-hour publish window. Once it is stale, the numbers disappear and the card falls back to “See current price on Amazon.”
Every priced card carries a visible check time. Amazon remains the final source for checkout price, seller, shipping, coupons, and availability.
4. Add original decision support
Each pick should answer at least three reader questions:
- Who is this best for?
- Why is it useful beyond the discount?
- What limitation or alternative should a buyer consider?
When we have firsthand testing, measurements, or original images, we label that evidence. When we do not, we do not imply that we tested the product.
5. Keep money and judgment in separate lanes
Affiliate compensation can affect which retailers we can monetize. It does not turn a weak item into an editorial pick. Affiliate links are labeled, sent directly to the retailer, and marked as sponsored for search engines.
Read the full editorial policy and affiliate disclosure.
6. Correct visibly
If a product is unavailable, a claim is stale, or a link reaches the wrong destination, the record should be paused rather than silently redirected to an unrelated page. Material editorial corrections are reflected in the page’s updated date.
